Cloud and data services facilitator Rackspace have launched ‘Rackspace Private Cloud Everywhere’, a VMware powered solution. With this launch, Rackspace aims to provide organizations with high-performance cloud-based data center services in order to expand their global footprint.

Rackspace say that organizations prefer private cloud when it comes to data sovereignty with high performance. They also say that as organizations expand in search of greener pastures, scaling cloud services also becomes imperative.

In order to cater to these needs, Rackspace launched a private cloud service to facilitate data centers and co-location providers around the world. They also believe that this solution, powered by cloud giant VMware, will be able to meet the demands of customers globally.

Speaking about the launch, Scott Crenshaw, Executive Vice President, Private Clouds at Rackspace, commented:

Rackspace Private Cloud Everywhere makes private cloud the optimal platform for even more enterprises and workloads. Customers receive public cloud-like services, with the ease of migration, security, performance and economic advantages of private clouds.

Speaking about the advantage provided by the solution, Rackspace say that ‘Private Cloud Everywhere’ as its name suggests will provide the flexibility to be deployed at any data center. They also added that they have given customers the option to operate the solution later by themselves through Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT).

Explaining the flexibility provided by ‘Rackspace Private Cloud Everywhere’, Deepak Mohan, Research Director at IDC, commented:

The market increasingly demands flexibility in cloud deployment models, to address varying workload and organizational needs.

The Rackspace Private Cloud Everywhere is a response to this need – bringing together a mix of hosted and owned deployment models, unified under the established VMware cloud environment and delivered through a trusted technology partner. This will increase the consistency, flexibility, and migration paths available to customers, as they execute on their cloud journey.
