Northern Ireland’s Economy Minister launches Deloitte Cloud Academy

20 graduates will undertake an intensive nine week training programme delivered by Belfast Metropolitan College.

The Economy Minister of Northern Ireland, Simon Hamilton, has launched Deloitte’s first Cloud Academy. 20 graduates will undertake an intensive nine week training programme under the auspices of Belfast Met.

The training will have a strong focus on Cloud computing and new areas such as python and cloud applications. On completion of the course the graduates will be interviewed for a position with Deloitte.

Minister Hamilton said:

Cloud Technology is a key component of the thriving IT sector here. Northern Ireland’s advanced telecoms network means it is a prime location for the deployment and use of Cloud Technologies.

This Academy is an excellent example of how I am determined to help our graduates into employment by providing them with the skills to meet the requirements of our local companies.

The continuing commitment from companies such as Deloitte to create jobs in Northern Ireland is hugely important to our continued prosperity.

Deloitte senior partner Jackie Henry said: “Targeting an additional 20 graduates for the business is a signal of our continued commitment to the growth of talent in Northern Ireland and our ambition to service international clients from our Belfast Office.
