Not-for -profit organization JISC has chosen Arbor Networks for DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) protection. JISC, formerly known as Joint Information Systems Committee, a supporter of higher education in the U.K. for research and technology development plans to secure its flagship research and education solution ‘Janet’ with this partnership.

With the aim to enhance digital education resources, JISC is seeking to help secure Janet and its other applications, and make them available to over 700 member organizations.

Steve Kennet, Director of Security at JISC explained:

A quality digital education starts with the availability of our Janet Network and related applications and services. It is as fundamental to us as electricity. That’s why we decided to be proactive about our DDoS defense by partnering with Arbor Networks, the industry leader.

Readers say that with DDoS attacks becoming more frequent, JISC’s alliance with Arbor is a good move to safeguard the interests of the student community in U.K.
